Tina Foster

tina_fosterTina’s classes are warm and mindful.  She  welcomes  all  kinds  of  people  at  all  levels  of  experience. The content of her classes is drawn from her 20 years of practice in a broad  spectrum of  traditions,  her  life  experience  and  the  inspiration  of  her  students.

Her guiding principles are simplicity, creativity, generosity and grounded ness. Additionally, her teaching is informed by continued study in Iyengar alignment, the yoga traditions of the Krishnamacharya lineage, the philosophy of J. Krishnamurti.

She has studied with many  teachers, including:  Erich Schiffmann, Sarah Powers, Judith Lasater, Evlaleah Howard, Dharma  Mittra,  Sharon  Gannon/David  Life,  TKV  Desikachar  and  Pattabhi  Jois.  She has practiced meditation under the guidance of Tsoknyi Rinpoche, Ajahn Amaro and Jack Kornfield, among others.

“For me, the measure of ’success’ in yoga practice can be found in one’s balanced use of intention and openness throughout all levels of life- physical and beyond. Students can evolve a practice which opens space for exploration and spontaneous insight while following a guided sequence. Likewise, life ‘off the mat’ is a practice of daring to trust inner guidance while thriving as a responsible and meaningful collaborator in the outside world.”
